Provides Business Equipment to 117 Families for Aiding Income Recovery Post-Tsunami

In 2007, as part of the Providing Cash for Grant project, 117 families selected from the areas of Pottuvil, Thirukovil, Karaitivu, and Kalmunai were provided with business equipment. The initiative was aimed at improving the income of individuals who had lost their jobs due to the tsunami. The support for this project came from Diakonia.

This effort likely sought to empower and economically uplift families affected by the tsunami by giving them the means to engage in various business activities. Providing business equipment can be a crucial step in helping individuals regain their livelihoods and work towards financial stability after experiencing the economic impacts of a natural disaster like the tsunami. The involvement of Diakonia indicates external support for the recovery and development of these communities.
